The sculptor Ladislav Šaloun built his studio in Slovenská Street in 1910 according to his own design, inspired by the work of the British architect Charles Mackintosh. He needed the studio to work on the sculpture of Jan Hus for the Old Town Square. Since the end of the 1990s, the studio space has belonged to the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, and, since its reconstruction in 2007, it has been used as The Studio of the Visiting Artist.
